We are very excited to have won a gold award for the Green Impact Scheme, recognising the steps we have taken to improve our environmental footprint.
As an environmental business we are very passionate about protecting our planet and reducing our environmental footprint.
We sponsored a scheme run by the national union of students, open to all Isle of Wight businesses to initiate or improve and make a difference. 65 businesses signed up and 25, including Vikoma, were ready for assessment in the summer.
With the full support of the board, Gary Barnes and Kate Murray championed the scheme supported by other team members throughout the business working together to make a difference. We were delighted, along with four other businesses, to be awarded a green impact gold award. We will continue to make further improvements over the next year.
Well done team!

The latest newsletter features our Star Disc Maxi, ideal for recovering medium to ultra heavy oil, our new Sump Skimmer and details on how we are protecting our enviroment.
Drainage sumps, deep access holes and waste water retention pits can often be difficult to reach using traditional skimmers, but not anymore with our new mini skimmers, designed with these jobs in mind.
Everything you need has been carefully designed and packaged to make the job easy. Purpose built trolleys for easy handling, tripods for easy and safe lifting into position and size suited to access holes.
Picofly is a weir skimmer which comes complete with pneumatic pump & hose set. Picofly is designed to fit into a 800mm access hole with an oil recovery rate of up to 4m3 per hour.
Our already popular Electro-Hydraulic K4 is a disc skimming system used in caisson applications. Being smaller that the Picofly, it fits into a 600mm access hole with an oil recovery rate of up to 3m3 per hour. Its new on board hydraulically driven positive displacement pump makes it ideal for deep holes, for instance in waste water sumps in power plants.

Vikoma is delighted to offer a revolutionary product that addresses the common problem of transportation of recovered product during an oil spill response operation.
An obstacle that is commonly encountered is the requirement to move recovered oil from a recovery site or a spill on land in a remote location, where contaminate liquid needs to be pumped to a different location for access by equipment such as vacuum trucks.
The Vikoma Mini Pipeline System has the ability to solve this issue. It has the capability to move liquid over distances of up to 1.5km using a combination of decanting tanks and highly efficient positive placement lobe pumps. The Vikoma Mini Pipeline System also uses a series of rigid pipework with special adaptors that allow a 30 degree alignment to adapt to even the most uneven terrain. The local connections between rigid pipework and tanks are flexible to allow connections to the pumps and valves to be done on-site.
As safety is always a top priority, the Vikoma Mini Pipeline System can be fitted with an auto shutdown device and exhaust spark arrestor to enable safe running in extreme oil spill response environments.
Our pipeline systems have proven popular for moving oils and other liquid from areas which are difficult to reach, such as forests, tundra, marshes and shorelines.

Vikoma are pleased to announce the release of the June 2018 company newsletter.
The latest newsletter features Portable Mini Pipeline, our unique high integrity vulcanised based floating recovered oil storage tank and our new basics range as well as highlights from recent events.
Vikoma have developed a unique vulcanised base for the floating recovered oil storage tank. This increases strength and is an unrivalled solution. Our manufacturing processes are unique and a floating tank with a vulcanised base sets our tank apart from the competition.
Vulcanising is a process where layers of our neoprene coated fabric and a solution are put through a heat press resulting in a high integrity seam with greater resistance to hydrocarbons and extreme temperatures than a cold glue process.
Our neoprene booms are also made from the same high quality vulcanising process. Quality and reliability is at the heart of everything we do. You can rely on our products to work first time, every time which is essential in an oil spill.
