Rapid Growth Positions Energy Environmental as World-leader

Aberdeen head-quartered, Energy Environmental Group, has reported 50% growth in turnover in the last 12 months.

Operating in the global energy environmental technology market, the group has reported a turnover of £19 million with EBITDA of £3.6 million.

Energy Environmental employs 80 people in the discovery and development of viable new technologies to improve environmental performance and reduce costs in upstream oil and gas. A further 30 to 40 jobs could be created in the next 12 months as the group seeks to introduce new technology, particularly in the alternative energy sector.

Founded by Bob Rooney and Peter Scholes, the group is seeking to grow both organically and by acquisition.

Mr Rooney said: “Since acquiring Screw Conveyor in 2003 and Vikoma in 2007 as the platform for Energy Environmental, we have built up a robust and globally recognised portfolio of products in the environmental side of the energy industry. Our focus is on identifying, licensing and developing IP for new technologies and equipment that help prevent damage to the environment but also help clean it up if it occurs.

“With environmental legislation becoming increasingly more stringent and oil and gas companies now operating in some of the most hostile and environmentally sensitive areas of the world, the demand for products that will mitigate risk and improve environmental performance is rising. We are very well-positioned to capitalise on this opportunity and are confident of achieving year on year growth for the next three to five years.”

Energy Environmental Group comprises three main trading companies: Vikoma International Limited, Screw Conveyor Limited and Rotawave Limited. Vikoma International leads the world in design manufacture and installation oil spill containment and recovery equipment with a global reputation for the development of innovative, high performance products to deal with the full range of oil spill scenarios, such as the recent oil spill in Louisiana.

Screw Conveyor designs, manufactures and supplies a variety of screw conveyor , systems based on the Archimedes screw principle, which are used in the onshore and offshore drilling sector to  efficiently handle move hazardous drill cuttings.

Rotawave owns and exploits cutting edge patents and intellectual property to develop cost effective solutions to challenges facing the energy industry. Its Advanced Thermal Processor effectively reclaims oil based drilling muds from drill cuttings.

As well as the corporate head-quarters and trading operations in Aberdeen, Energy Environmental Group has a manufacturing plant in the Isle of Wight and test facilities in North Wales.
