The company was founded in 1967 by BP (British Petroleum) following the notorious Torrey Canyon oil spill disaster off the South West coast of England.
Since then Vikoma International Ltd has continued to develop new ways to contain and recover spilled oil, to protect the environment and provide cost effective and highly efficient options for operators to clean up spills.
Vikoma has an extensive product range which caters for a wide variety of applications and scenarios including:
a unique range of neoprene oil containment booms

which deliver a 98% oil to water pick up ratio, available in a number of sizes to recover oil a rates from 7 tonnes an hour up to 40 - 45 tonnes per hour
Vikoma's unique "Star disc" design caters for high viscosity oil situations, whilst the "T Disc" is ideal for industrial uses.
And we continue to strive to develop easy to use, fast, and efficient products which carry on working at high performance levels for years and years.

Screw Conveyor Ltd, Vikoma International Ltd and Rotawave Ltd are wholly owned subsidiaries of the group.
Rotawave owns and exploits cutting edge patents and IP providing cost effective solutions to the Energy and Power Generation sectors. It is currently designing and building equipment incorporating their new patented Targeted Intelligent Energy Systems (TIES) for the production of "biocoal" form Biomass, directed at the Power Generation Sector. It has also designed and manufactured an Advanced Thermal Processor (ATP) which effectively reclaims Oil Based Drilling Muds (OBM) from Drill Cuttings and renders the residue inert. The technology is also being developed for other applications, notably Land Remediation, Tar Sands and processing of end of life tyres.
